Our favorite, relatively undiscovered region of Italy is the Southern Piedmont, home to Italy’s finest wines and great cuisine. Bologna, home to Europe’s oldest university and the gastro capital of Italy, is another favorite.
- Spain - The epicurean scene in Spain is white hot and the variety across key regions such as Catalonia, Andalusia and the Basque Country makes epicurean travel in Spain particularly enjoyable. Plus, one will find a number of undiscovered wine regions, including a Robert Parker favorite.
- Portugal - In our view, Portugal too often is overlooked. It is a wonderful destination that is rich in history as well as epicurean pleasures.
- Ireland- Newfound wealth transformed the Irish culinary scene beginning in the 1980s. Today, one will find exceptional restaurants, an array of artisan food producers and, of course, the great libations for which Ireland is well known.
- Argentina - Everybody loves Buenos Aires, but Argentina’s other regions and natural splendors are just as captivating. We love a good Malbec, and some of the high altitude vineyards there and in the Salta area are producing other great reds and whites. Plus, you will find the finest Latin American cuisine and culinary traditions here.
